Why withdrawal fees belong on the same sheet as the swap

A swap that looks cheap can still lose to a slow, pricey withdrawal — how we force both onto one calculator view.

Most exchange interfaces celebrate the swap line and hide withdrawal schedules two menus deep. In Admiralty sessions we ask clients to read both before they smile at a “low fee” badge.

What goes wrong

A trader picks the venue with the lowest stated swap commission. After the trade, moving USDC to a cold wallet costs a flat fee that erases the advantage — sometimes more. The Smart Crypto Calculator PC fields we use treat withdrawal as a mandatory row when the destination is off-venue.

A practical habit

Before confirming, write three numbers: swap fee, expected gas (if on-chain), and withdrawal. If any cell is blank, the sheet is unfinished. In our fee guide this is layer five; in client emails it is the line people skip most often.

When we escalate to an audit

If withdrawal tiers depend on VIP status you have not verified, or if the venue quotes in a token you still need to convert, book a swap fee audit. Guessing those tiers from a blog post is how fee sheets drift.
